If both your politics and your penchant for chocolate consumption ere on the liberal side of things, then you were probably at NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts 30th Anniversary of Chocolate Madness last night. The annual event is held at the Cyclorama in Boston’s South End, and features many popular restaurants, bakeries, and chocolatiers from around Boston and beyond. This year’s list of participants includes Amanda Oakleaf Cakes, Hamersley’s Bistro, Union Bar & Grille, Petsi Pies, Harvest, and  one of my favorites, Chocolate Therapy! The event helps raise money each year for NARAL, helping to support programs and resources for women’s reproductive health and choice.

For the cost of a ticket, which sold for $50 in advance this year, and $60 at the door, guests may help themselves from the close to 30 vendors, who set up tables filled with some of their most delicious and creative chocolate treats. Judges also help determine prizes for the desserts in a variety of categories, and the winning tables are presented with ribbons and honored at the event.

It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get involved in a cause that many of us feel rather passionate about.
